On Thursday 12th June, pubs, businesses and community groups across the country will be coming together to support Marmalade Trust in raising awareness of loneliness by taking part in one BIG live, nationwide pub quiz. 20% of the entry fee will automatically be donated to the Marmalade Trust.

How does it work?

Taking part in the quiz is easy. All you need is a laptop you can connect to your TVs, a smart TV, or the ability to "cast" a phone or tablet to the big screen. Players scan a QR code on the TV to make the entry payment and play along using their mobile phone, with a 20% donation automatically being sent to the Marmalade Trust. No apps, no hassle, no fuss!

Plug in...

The live quiz is fully automated, so once you've got the picture up on your screens, you don't have to do a thing. Just pull up our webpage on your laptop, plug us into your HDMI matrix (or direct to your TVs), and you're done! (We'll share more details on how to connect once you've signed up). When the quiz begins, all the questions, answers, both local and national leaderboards, and our very own quiz master will display automatically.

Quizzers play along using their phones, competing LIVE with up to thousands of players nationwide. Questions, answers, leaderboards - everything they need is right there in the palm of their hand, no apps required.

What do quizzers need to know?

The quiz is played as a team game, with one phone per player. This lets your team hedge your bets on questions where you aren't sure - so long as some of your team get the answer right, your team gets at least some of the points! Players can also enter solo if they wish to, with no intrinsic disadvantage to doing so.

To get started, get one player to scan the QR code on the TV to sign up for the quiz and create the team. Anyone who wants to join that team just has to scan the special "Team QR Code" that shows up on the lead player's phone, or enter their team code!

With the quiz scheduled to begin at 7:30pm, your quizzers will need a bit of time to get set up and registered, so please do advise them to turn up 30 - 60 minutes early for a 7:30pm start.
